Jeffrey Davis • Feb 19, 2014

client meeting Ever feel like you’re pulling teeth to get your team to speak up during a client meeting ? Try these simple tips to get the conversation flowing :

1. Email Your Agenda To Your Team Beforehand – There is no simpler or better way to ensure that your team is ready then to get the talking points to them early. Two days before the meeting if possible.

2. Specify That You Expect Participation – If your team tends to be too quiet in meetings, specify clearly that you would like more participation. Let them know you will do your part to get talking points out early so everybody has time to prepare.

3. Assign Talking Points – If your still having trouble getting participation, consider assigning specific talking points to each team member. Be sure to follow up with each person in regard to his or her performance.

4. Offer Plenty of Encouragement – If your team tends toward the shy side of the personality spectrum , you want to be sure that you offer a healthy dose of encouragement while giving feedback.
